Everyone meet Darla,
Darla is a 13 year old grade Kentucky mountain mare that stands 15 hands tall. This gal is thick, stout made, and a gorgeous black roan color. Darla has been a trail horse for most her years. A family in Kentucky owned this mare. She was their personal trail horse, took her camping, shown at local county horse shows, and the whole family rode her around their farm. Unfortunately like most people jobs took over, kids moved away, and they didn’t have time for her anymore. We’ve had her now for a few months. She’s been an absolute joy to have around. Darla is a nice mare that’s showed us no troubles. We’ve ridden her in a small group, out alone, even ridden her with dogs and around livestock. She’s the same every time! Darla has a nice smooth natural gait. She’s no speed demon but has the perfect speed for any trail rider to enjoy. She’ll walk on a loose rein, stands to mount, good for farrier, and easy to handle on the ground. On the trials, she’s a dream! She takes her time when going down the steep mountains, no hesitation when crossing water or logs, and she walks up the hillsides to make it an easier ride.
